Two retailers are leasing additional space to accommodate growth at one of the Dayton region’s top retail centers.
Batteries Plus and Luxury Nail Spa are both expanding their locations at Miller Lane in response to customer demand.
Alex Kolodesh, a developer with Singer Properties, said Batteries Plus will move from a 1,600-square-foot space next to Luxury Nail Spa into a 1,900-square-foot space across the street, and Luxury Nail Spa will double in size to 3,200 square feet.
Along with the upcoming opening of Fazoli’s — planned for Aug. 26 — and McAlister’s Deli, the four centers of the York Commons district will be completely full, Kolodesh said.
Vincent Dang, president of Luxury Nail Spa, said his Miller Lane business is one of the most successful nail spas he has ever run.
“I’ve been in business 18 years,” he said. “This is my seventh salon. This is one of the best ones.”
Dang said his location draws in many customers from Interstate 75. He said the space gets packed on the weekends, so he will add more manicure and pedicure stations. He also plans to add a party room for birthday and wedding groups to have a separate space, investing at least $100,000 in new equipment.
Dang said he will hire five to seven more employees in the next year, growing his team of 25.
