New Miller Lane restaurant sets opening date
By Mark Fisher
BUTLER TWP., Montgomery County —
The Fazoli’s quick-service Italian restaurant that has been under construction at 6675 Miller Lane will host its grand opening on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
The Fazoli’s, which will share a new retail building with McAlister’s Deli, will seat 77 and will employ 40 to 50 people, a spokesman for the Lexington, Ky.-based casual Italian chain said. It will be the seventh Fazoli’s in the Dayton-Springfield area.
The new restaurant includes a patio — “rare for Fazoli’s and the first in Dayton,” a spokesman said — as well as digital menu boards and updated decor.
From Aug. 26-31, the new restaurant’s guests will be encouraged to help “Stuff the Bug,” a new 2014 Volkswagen Beetle known as the Fazoli’s Fan Bug, with school supplies. Guests bringing items will be given a coupon for a free Lemon Ice, and donated items will be distributed to local students. Diners also can register to win a two-year lease on the Volkswagen Beetle and two years of Fazoli’s Family Meals, a Fazoli’s spokesman said.
On August 27 Fazoli’s will partner with Feed the Children, a national hunger relief organization, and the Community Action Partnership of Greater Dayton to distribute food to more than 400 families in the Dayton area, the spokesman said.
“Dayton has always been one of Fazoli’s best markets with a very loyal fan base,” Scott SirLouis, director of operations for Fazoli’s, said in February when plans for the new Miller Lane location were announced. “We’re excited about building another restaurant in the city, and we expect it will do a great business because of its strong location.”
The new restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
